NOVENAS & PRAYERS
A Novena is generally nine consecutive days of devotional prayer to a Saint invoking their help to take our petitions to the throne of God for special graces, favors and petitions. The word novena is derived from the Latin word novem, which means nine.
Saint Andrews Christmas Novena
This Novena starts tomorrow on November 29, 2024 and goes until Christmas Day. Pray the following prayer 15 times per day or 3 times after reciting each decade of the rosary, reciting your intentions once per day or with your daily rosary prayer, as follows:
"Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my petition, [mention your prayer petition here] through the merits of our Savior Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen."
Avoid Sin and Practice Virtue
Adorable Jesus, my Savior and Master, model of all perfection, I resolve and will endeavor this day to imitate Thy example, to be like Thee, mild, humble, chaste, zealous, charitable and resigned. I will redouble my efforts that I may not fall this day into any of those sins which I have heretofore committed (here name any besetting sin), and which I sincerely desire to forsake. Amen.

Necessary Graces
O my God, Thou knowest my poverty and weakness, and that I am unable to do anything good without Thee; deny me not, O God, the help of Thy grace; proportion it to my necessities; give me strength to avoid anything evil which Thou forbiddest and to practice the good which Thou hast commanded; and enable me to bear patiently all the trials which it may please Thee to send me. Amen.
